Richland County Soil and Water Department

The Richland Conservation District provides leadership, information, education and technical assistance to conserve, improve and sustain our natural resources through partnerships with individuals, businesses, schools, organizations, and local and state and federal governments.

The Richland County Soil and Water Department is co-located with the Richland Conservation District and the staff of resource professionals provide technical and educational services to the citizens of Richland County.

To assist the land users of Richland County in conserving our natural resources.

  • By improving water quality and reducing soil erosion
  • By educating youth and adults regarding conservation

The conservation district has developed two objectives to incorporate all of the various programs into an Annual Plan of Operation:

Objective 1:
Provide educational opportunities to the public and inform citizens about the district and the services offered.

Objective 2:
Provide conservation technical assistance to the citizens of Richland County.

All programs and services of the Conservation District, USDA-NRCS, and DNR, Land, Water and Conservation Division are offered on a non-discriminatory basis without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, political beliefs or handicap.
