Bulk Items / Large Items

Bulk Items should be placed curbside by 7:00 AM on the second Monday of each month. Actual pickup may occur on any weekday during that week. Such items must be placed at a distance from other pickup items, such as the recycling bin, yard waste pile, or roll cart.

Items identified as bulk:
Refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher, hot water heater, or other large white good household items. Such items must be generated by the residential household from which they are collected. Doors on all items must be removed prior to pickup.

Examples of items that are NOT included:
Gym equipment, bikes, pianos/organs, pool tables, TVs, exterior structures (such as fencing, decks, and dog houses), interior remodeling debris, 55 gallon drums, gas engines or car parts.

For questions on the pickup of a specific item, please contact Richland County at 803-929-6000 for more information.

Construction debris (to include carpet, padding, shingles, lumber, bathroom and other plumbing fixtures, cement, sand, and dirt) is not collected curbside by Richland County and should be taken to a designated drop off facility.
