The Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office of Richland and Kershaw Counties is responsible for prosecuting criminals. However, the Solicitor's Office is equally concerned with the welfare of victims and witnesses of crime.

In the past, victims' rights and feelings have too often been overlooked by the criminal justice system. For this reason, the Victim- witness Assistance Unit was created. The Unit is here to assist you, the victims and witnesses of crime, with any questions or problems you may have concerning your case. As the victim or witness of a crime, you may be called upon to play an important role in the criminal justice system.

You have the right to be heard.

Everything you say, can and will help you seek justice.
